Lamar University Junior Year: Indoor Champion in the Long Jump and 60 dash. She broke the Indoor Record for the 60 that was set back in 2001 with a time of 7.39 seconds. Thai broke the time with a 7.37 second 60 dash. In outdoor, She qualified to make the 1st round in the 100 dash with a time of 11.56 seconds.
Sophomore Year:Indoor Champion in the long jump, 60 dash and runner up in the triple jump. In the Outdoors Thai Williams broke the Lamar School Record for the long jump that was set in 1996 with a jump of 19’7ft. She broke the record was a 20’7ft. Qualified her for the 1st round once again in the long jump. Thai competed in the 1st round at University of Texas and placed 19th in the Nation as a finish.
Freshman Year: Went to Kansas for the first round in the long jump as a Freshman in outdoors. Was ranked 27 in the Nation.
Clear Springs High School
First Freshman to go Regionals in Triple Jump in 2012 at Humble Texas.
Sophomore year: District Champion in the 100 dash, triple jump, Third place in triple jump at Regionals.
Junior Year: District Champion, Area Champion and Regional Champion in the triple jump, the 100 dash and 4x1. Qualified to make state in the triple jump, 100 dash and 4x1. Top ten in all three events at state.
Senior: District champion, Area Champion and Regional Champion in the long jump and state runner up in the long jump.
Thai is proud to share her passion for Track and Field. She began making her mark in the sport during Middle School. Thai enjoyed running in Summer Track Programs and she reflects on this time in her life as she looks forward to her service to Blaze Track and Field.
